Diving in the Maldives – The Victory

Several of the best dives I’ve ever experienced will be in the Maldives, along with the Victory wreck was a fantastic Diving Holidays . Without really as well-known or great since the Thistlegorm, the Triumph continues to be an attractive wreck, a great deal of marine life, with difficult and soft corals now more successful about it.

The Maldives Will Be The Ultimate Destination for Divers

The Victory sank in 1981 and was a cargo vessel, currently located on the Western area of the Airport Area in the North Male Atoll at around 30 metres.

Why is my experience more wonderful nevertheless were the diving conditions around the day, I’ve done my fair share of drift dives, so am quite familiar with strong currents, but the problems with this day were another thing. It had been such as a gale force wind, entering the water we’d to grab the photo line quickly otherwise we’d happen to be a distance out to beach within a matter of minutes, this prospect is created considerably more complicated when you look at the fact the dive boat cannot come and rescue you, as they can’t risk causing your website when other divers within your party have descended!

Luckily I was able to secure myself on the opportunity line and once my pal was in the water we started our descent, the current was so powerful that individuals were truly outside and it honestly felt like there was a gale blowing us once we pulled ourselves down the opportunity line against the present. Then came another obstacle as we reached the the top of mast, releasing my grasp to the chance point and pushing myself across to seize your hands on another point about 4 yards away, of course the perspective of being completed to sea for miles flashed through my mind again. Once I’d a safe grip to the second line I breathed a sigh of comfort while the deck became clearly visible below. We descended towards the terrace as soon as there we were guarded from the present a free to investigate, visibility was great, but even as we were merely diving on air and not Nitrox the jump time was limited at 30 metres. We had also used more air than usual due to the increased effort to truly descend.

Back on board the vessel we reviewed the conditions, and although demanding agreed that’s what really made the experience much more rewarding. In route back after dark money Guy we were fortunate enough to find out quite a few Sharks swimming along right in front of the boat. All in all an excellent days diving.
